About Us

The Mathematics Teachers' Association of the Northern Territory (MTANT) is an affiliate of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) and aim to support and promote the work of maths teachers throughout the Northern Territory. MTANT offer professional development opportunities for teachers and engaging mathematics activities for students, to recongise the successes of teachers and students, and to be a voice on local and national mathematical issues. 

MTANT aims to:

• Support and enhance the work of teachers
• Promote the learning of mathematics
• Represent and promote interests in mathematics education

What is the benefit of an MTANT Membership?

• Participate in annual conferences, scheduled professional learning events, maths enrichment camps and afternoons
• Subscription to journals published by AAMT
• Contribute to professional discussion via the AAMT discussion list
• Participate in projects of national significance (e.g. reSolve: Maths by Inquiry, MoneySmart)
